A Comprehensive Sport Development Calendar

CITY SPORTS ANNOUNCES THEIR 2024 SPORTS YEAR CALENDAR

CitySports has announced its sports calendar for the year 2024. The comprehensive schedule encompasses 20 events, featuring 7 major international championships, providing an incredible 627 sports hours for every student/athlete throughout the year.

We aim to foster over 40,000 youth engagements with about 100 coaches across various sports. Building on the success of the previous year’s Global Sports Program, we anticipate a significant increase with a projected 250 participants set to embark on this transformative sports journey.

First Quarter
We kick off the exhilarating year with the Sports Parent Forum on Friday, January 12th, a virtual platform designed to enlighten parents about our ambitious plans and programs for the 2024 sports year.

Following this, the City Sports School resumes from January 13th-14th, catering to students across all sports and levels, including The City Sports Residency Academy. Also, training resumes for students/athletes and players of City Sports Football Club. The City Sports League takes center stage in February, fostering healthy competition among students. Simultaneously, the foundation arm of CitySports, the League of Champions (LOC), begins its exciting journey in February, promising a year-round celebration of sporting prowess. In March, the City Sports League will organize Inter-school Games for Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos, further solidifying our commitment to grassroots development.

Second Quarter
Starting with April, Holiday Easter Camp will run concurrently with the OMODELIG, a football tournament for younger athletes at the grassroot, City Sports Football Club will join the National league while the City Sports School welcomes its students for the second term of the year. The month of May is power-packed with two Global Sports Programs to Croatia and Germany, one month Immersion Program for Residency athletes in Spain and a Basketball expedition to Barcelona in June.

Third Quarter
The third quarter sees a Tennis Camp for our tennis enthusiasts in London in July, a second edition of OMODELIG, and a Summer Holiday Program for our students extending from July to August. Community Outreaches, occurring quarterly in March, June, September, and December, embody our commitment to giving back to the sports community with initiatives like: ‘Train the trainers’ and athletes training and developments in different sports. In September, the third sports term resumes with a series of training sessions, development matches, and local tournaments for our students/athletes.

Fourth Quarter
The final quarter brings City Sports FC matches for the 2024/2025 League season at the NLO in October. November takes our football talents to Salou, Spain, for the last Football Tournament of the year.
The grand finale awaits in December with the City Sports Awards 2024, a spectacular evening celebrating the achievements, leadership qualities, and contributions of our athletes, parents, coaches, partners, and staff.

The year concludes with our Christmas camp and the last Community Outreach for 2024.
Embracing the technological era, our advancement in sports technology ensures that all data collected throughout our programs, involving athletes and coaches, will be harnessed for in-depth analysis and exploration in 2024.
