Leadership Coin Strategy

Leadership is a very important subset of one of the FIVE pillars of City Sports. It falls under Mental development which teaches our students to become the best in the world at their age on and off the pitch. The intention to develop leadership skills in our students led us to the idea of the Leadership Coin.

How It Works

Four (4) of our Leadership skills will be focused on and evaluated under this strategy. Every Saturday training day, coaches are given our specially designed coins to hand out to as many students who meet the criteria of earning one. Only one coin can be given to a student per day and the coach is not obligated to always give out coins in the event that none of the students satisfies ALL the criteria any given day.

At the end of the term, all students are required to come with the coins they collected and the student(s) with the highest number of coins wins the Term Leader Award (TLA) provided they have received at least 80% of the maximum number of coins possible for that term

Unreturned coins

In addition, if a student fails to return the coins at the end of the term. The number of coins not returned will be deducted from the coins earned in the following term.

The Criteria Breakdown

NOTE: Students must meet ALL criteria for a training day to get a coin from the coach.

Discipline: Obedience to rules. The focus here are:

  • Punctuality
  • 100% Compliance to the dress code

Integrity: This is about honesty.

  • Honesty: All students should ALWAYS be honest

Excellence: Ability to continuously improve oneself. Focus are:

  • Attitude to work – Students must show enthusiasm at all times
  • Continuous Improvement – Students must be willing to do better than their last performance

Teamwork: ability to work with others towards a common goal.

  • Students must show that they are always ready to work in teams
  • Selflessness – ability to look out for others

The Reward

In every center, the student(s) with the highest number of coins collected over the course of the term will be recognized as a Winner at the end of that term provided they have received at least 80% of the maximum number of coins possible for that term. The reward to each winner will be a $50 voucher on Amazon.
